Adult Summer Reading 2024
An exciting program for adults to deepen and celebrate their love of reading!
All ages are welcome to participate. We recommend the Adult program for ages 18+.
Reading also includes listening to an audiobook.
How it works
To participate, the library will provide an official paper reading log starting Monday 6/10/2024. Stop by the library to get one!
The program will officially begin on Sunday 6/16/2024.
*If you don’t have time to stop by the library at the start of the program, simply record the dates you read each week (see below for more information). You can stop by at a later date and fill in the log to claim the drawing tickets.
Adults can earn drawing tickets in this year’s Summer Reading Program.
There are two different ways to earn those tickets
- READING LOG: Log the number of days you read over the summer! Read four days during a week to earn three drawing tickets. That’s a total of 27 tickets! The weeks are listed to the right.
- ACTIVITIES: Complete different reading activities for a chance to earn additional bonus tickets. Reading activities are indicated on the paper reading log.
Stop in weekly to claim tickets or claim them by Friday 8/29/2024. While at the library, you will enter them into the drawing baskets.
The prize drawings will be held on Tuesday 9/3/2024. All winners will be contacted by email on 9/3/2024 and all winners must be able to pick up their prize at the library.
Reading to small children, listening to an audiobook or podcast, and reading a newspaper or magazine all count!

Sunday July 21, 2024 – Saturday August 27, 2024 - Week 7 (read 4 days during the week for 3 drawing tickets!)
Sunday July 28, 2024 – Saturday August 3, 2024 - Week 8 (read 4 days during the week for 3 drawing tickets!)

Prize Drawing Information
- Readers must present their reading log on/by Friday 8/29/2024 to claim their prize tickets and enter them into the drawing baskets.
- Readers can enter their drawing tickets into any of the THREE drawing baskets.
- The prize drawings will be held on Tuesday 9/3/2024. All winners will be contacted by email on 9/2/2024.

How do I sign up?
Stop by the Hopkinton Public Library to get a paper log (starting 6/16/2024). If you don’t have time to stop by the library at the start of the program, simply record the dates you read each week (see below for more information). FYI: When signing up, we will ask for a name and email address (so that we can contact drawing winners). We will also ask registrants to circle an age group for each reader (ages 0-5, 6-12, 13-18, 18+). This information helps the librarians better understand the demographics of who is participating.

What should I read?
Anything! Reading also includes listening to an audiobook and reading with a child. All ages are welcome to participate, including kids who are not yet reading because being read to always counts.
How long should I read?
Whatever is right for you. If you often read an hour per day, try reading for longer. If you are busy and often do not take time to read at all, just making space in your life for reading may be an accomplishment.
Is there an online version of the program?
No.
How will I know if I am a drawing basket winner?
The Librarian will email winners on 9/3/2024.
