2025 Children’s Winter Reading Marathon
Just like marathon runners, good readers consistently practice and challenge themselves!
Can you complete the reading marathon training program!?
All ages are welcome to participate, including kids who are not yet reading because being read to always counts!
Reading also includes listening to an audiobook.
How it works
To participate, the library will provide an official paper reading log starting Monday 2/10/2025.
*If you don’t have time to stop by the library at the start of the program, simply record the dates your child reads each week (see below for more information). You can stop by at a later date and fill in the log to claim the drawing tickets.
Kids are challenged to read 4 days during each of the weeks listed below. For every week a child reads 4 days, a librarian will give them 1 ticket to enter into the prize basket drawing. Kids can get a bonus ticket for completing all 4 weeks. That’s a total of 5 tickets! Stop in weekly to claim tickets or claim them by Saturday 3/22/2025.

Prize Drawing Information
- You must present the reading log on/by Saturday 3/22/2025 to claim your prize tickets and enter them into the drawing baskets.
- Kids can enter their drawing tickets into any of the three drawing baskets.
- The prize drawings will be held on Monday 3/24/2025. All winners will be contacted by email on 3/24/2025.
Prize Basket #1
This basket features a doodle board, lab putty, a Lego set, a Rubik’s cube set, and two books!
Prize Basket #2
This basket features a mix and twist slime kit, a doodle board, magic painting book, stained glass coloring book, rock painting kit, and two books!
Prize Basket #3
This basket features a stuffed penguin, Frozen coloring kit, playdoh, blocks, bubbles, and two books!

How do I sign up?
Stop by the Children’s Department at the Hopkinton Public Library to get a paper log (starting 2/10/2025).
