Lucas Ferreira, Applications Support Specialist
Our Guest Librarian for the month of February is Lucas Ferreira. Lucas has been with the Town of Hopkinton for 3.5 years, currently serving as a Data & Applications Support Specialist in the IT department. His love for words began in Kindergarten when his teacher brought stories to life, igniting a lifelong fascination with the power of language to convey meaning and emotion. Growing up in Milford, Lucas spent many evenings at the local library, either piecing together puzzles or poring over atlases. He also developed a hobby of collecting VHS tapes (with over 100 movies) as well as gadgets, buttons, watches, pens, and more.
Lucas earned his degree in Geography from Worcester State University, with a focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and a double minor in Sociology and Computer Science. His passion for municipal data comes from a strong belief in the importance of making informed decisions based on context, risk evaluation, and effective value management. A naturally curious and imaginative person, Lucas is always exploring what is possible vs. what seems to be impossible. This year, he’s committed to learning the arts of quilting and breadmaking, with his cinnamon rolls already earning rave reviews.
