February is the shortest month…

There is a lot to keep you busy throughout this cold winter that is just showing its force in New England. Who doesn’t crave a warm library chair with a book on your lap or a cozy spot near a friendly fire or wood stove captivated by a new read in hand? This month we celebrate Black History Month. Let’s browse for something in this subject area to read.

Turning to recent authors, here is an interview with a new African American author Jamila Minnicks. She was a first novel finalist for her book, “Moon Over Jessup”.

Finally, let us recognize a famous African American scientist, astronomer, and mathematician, who also assisted in surveying and designing the plan for the capital city, Washington, D.C., Benjamin Banneker.
