Young Adult Summer Reading 2026

An exciting program for teens and tweens to deepen and celebrate their love of reading! The YA Summer Reading Program is open to anyone in grades 5 through 12.

Come to the library to sign up! Read at least 4 days a week to earn a ticket for a chance to win an end-of-summer prize basket. Complete fun challenges to earn a spin on the prize wheel for free books, candy, and other prizes.

Novels, Graphic Novels, Manga, eBooks, Audiobooks, and reading to someone else all count as reading!

How it works

Come to the library to sign up and receive a paper reading log starting Monday, June 15. The YA Summer Reading Program is open to anyone in grades 5 through 12. 5th graders can choose between the Children’s Reading Log or the Teen Reading Log. Check out the differences in prizes and bonus activities to decide which program works for you!

  • Reading Tracker: Log the number of days you read over the summer. Earn one ticket for each week that you read AT LEAST 4 days. You can claim tickets until August 14. Tickets give you a chance to win one of the end-of-summer prize baskets.
  • Prize Wheel Challenges: The back of your log has 8 challenges you can complete! For each challenge completed, earn a spin on the prize wheel. Each challenge can only be redeemed once & only one spin per person per day. Win bonus tickets, temporary tattoos, stickers, free books, magnetic bookmarks, candy, or mystery items.
  • Hidden Plushie: A new plushie is hiding in the Library this summer. Find it hidden in a new spot every week for a bonus ticket.

We recommend stopping in throughout the summer to claim tickets. The LAST day to claim tickets, redeem prize wheel spins, or find the plushie is Friday, August 14.

Prize drawings for the baskets will be held on Monday, August 17. Winners will be notified by email.
