Just like marathon runners, good readers consistently practice and challenge themselves!
Can you complete the reading marathon training program!?
All ages are welcome to participate, including kids who are not yet reading because being read to always counts!
Reading also includes listening to an audiobook.
To participate, the library will provide an official paper reading log starting Monday 2/12/2024. Stop by the Children’s Department to get one!
*If you don’t have time to stop by the library at the start of the program, simply record the dates your child reads each week (see below for more information). You can stop by at a later date and fill in the log to claim the drawing tickets.
Kids are challenged to read 4 days during each of the weeks listed below. For every week a child reads 4 days, a librarian will give them 5 tickets to enter into the prize basket drawing (for a total of 20 tickets!). Stop in weekly to claim tickets or claim them by Saturday 3/23/2024.

FYI: When signing up, we will ask the child’s name and a caregiver’s email address (so that we can contact drawing winners). We will also ask registrants to circle an age group for each reader (ages 0-5, 6-12, 13-18, 18+). This information helps the librarians better understand the demographics of who is participating.
